Second Saturdays with the Sweeties

We’re gathering to learn, grow, and be held. Together, we’ll explore African diasporic crops, honor the resiliency of our ancestors, and deepen conversations around how we care and support our communities.

DATE: Saturday, June 21, 2025 (RESCHEDULED DATE)

LOCATION: WILDSEED South - Millerton, NY (you will receive driving directions via email)

TIME: 10AM-2:30PM

A vegetarian lunch will be provided.

FAQs

  • We ask everyone joining us to take a COVID-19 test (PCR/Rapid Test) 24 hours before the day of the event, ideally before arrival. We will have tests will be available on site.

    Please do not join us, if you feel sick, suspect you have been exposed to COVID-19 within the past 10 days, are recovering from COVID-19 and/or live/share indoor space with someone who currently has COVID-19 in order to minimize spread.

    We highly encourage participants to limit high-risk activities before participating in this event and continue masking in public spaces (including around people who you do not know their COVID-19 status).

    Hand sanitizer, hand washing stations and masks will be available onsite.

  • Terrain: All activities will take place outdoors, on grassy and uneven terrain. The land is currently not wheelchair accessible.

    Activities: We will have different activities that have varying impact levels to make sure there is an activity for everyone. Honor your needs and transition to a different activity as the need/desire arises. Self-paced breaks for water, stretching, resting, bathroom use are encouraged.

    Water: Drinking water will be available.

    Bathroom: There will be a single stall, ADA compliant, gender inclusive porta-potty onsite with a hand washing station on the outside.

  • Please keep in mind the weather for the day and dress appropriately as we will be outside the entire time.

    The terrain is uneven and can be very muddy in certain areas if it has recently rained, so please wear sturdy boots that you don’t mind getting muddy or possibly wet.

    Ticks are present! We encourage you to do a tick check when you get home. Some other preventative measures include: wearing light colored clothing, long sleeves and pants, wear tick spray, or pants tucked into socks.

    Wear sunscreen, and drink lots of water if the weather is forecasted be sunny and warm.

  • You will receive our address via email once you’ve registered.

    The closest public transportation is the Amtrak, Hudson station.
